• I <3 DW gift, perhaps which allows people to contribute as much as they like to the site in return for a lovely PNG.

• the Golden Spanner, gifted to people who've contributed to the site in some way a la PAF.

Implementation Notes

• LJ has a notification for "friend gets virtual gift". This must respect bans.

• Rate limiting: once upon a time, someone (I think Connie) got someone (I think Kevin) approximately 1,000 free-to-volunteers snowflake cookie vgifts. They were all delivered on the same date. Some of Kevin's friends had the "my friend gets a vgift" notification on. This flooded the inboxes of any of his friends who were subscribed. This is why we can't have nice things.
